Evans Scholars and our Caddie Program

caddie is someone who assists golfers during their rounds. Their responsibilities include carrying the golfer's bag, pacing yardages, replacing divots, raking bunkers and attending the flagstick.

It's a great summer job for young people. You spend the summer outdoors earning good money, and you get the opportunity to meet influential people and develop strong communication skills. You also can potentially qualify for a free college scholarship.

Caddying is part of golf's heritage, "the way golf was meant to be played," and part of its future. It is also a great way to learn the game of golf. Caddying is an investment for the future of young men and women. The WGA is working to keep people active and interested in this great sport.

The Evans Scholarship is a full tuition and housing scholarship for golf caddies. To qualify for an Evans Scholarship, you must have a good caddieevans-1111 record, good grades, demonstrated financial need and outstanding character.

At Prairie View Golf Club and Wood Wind Golf Club we are doing our best to provide an opportunity for boys and girls to pursue their dream.  For further information contact Patrick at Prairie View Golf Club at 317.816.3100 and Jake at Wood Wind Golf Club at 317.669.8550.

The golf shop pays the caddies $15 every time they go out, and the suggested tip from the player is $20. You can also take a forecaddie out with your foursome for a minimum of $10 per player. We just need a few days in advance of your tee time to schedule caddies for your group.
